He wrote the motoring column in the Andersonstown News over 30 years ago and recently re-joined the team to help develop the motoring section. He has a wealth of vehicular experience in a myriad of roles across a broad spectrum of the motor industry and motorsport.

Gerry worked as a Supercar & Rally Car driving instructor and competed in stock, saloon and rally cars and is currently a 4X4 demonstrator. Along with a business partner he owned and operated a car repair and maintenance business which included second-hand car sales.

He has been involved in rallying for over 30 years as a driver, a technician, a team manager and as part of the management team on a myriad of rallies including the Circuit of Ireland Rally.

Gerry works part-time as a professional Chauffeur driving for one of Ireland's premier chauffeur businesses driving corporate, entertainment and high-class tourism clients using a fleet of Mercedes Benz V & S Class cars,

Gerry's restores and recommissions modern classic cars and his current collection includes an Opel Manta GTE, a Ford Cougar V6, a Vauxhall Astra Classic Rally car and his most recent acquisition a Vauxhall Tigra Exclusive 2 door, 2 seater convertible which he is currently recommissioning after being off the road for more than 2 years.
